“Riding Winds, Chasing Light” – the 2021 Main Lantern

The Main Lantern of the 2021 Taiwan Lantern Festival, “Riding Winds, Chasing Light,” was designed by LuxuryLogico. The artwork brings together the winds of Hsinchu and the lights of the festival, while suggesting “a town of winds built upon light.”

Constructed of 108 bamboo pieces, the lantern integrates traditional bamboo art with mechanical art. Amid dazzling lights, it recreates the rhythm of the winds. With changing shapes that resemble a classical bamboo lamp and a temple lantern, it evokes memories of Hsinchu’s past, while giving blessings to Taiwan.
